Computer programming seamed to be something new for Charlie, but he was able to see how it is incorporated in items he uses everyday such as calculaters and video games.
Presented the fundamentals of computer programming languages and provided an example of BASIC language. Also used some time to continue building the desktop trebuchet model.
Assignment
Bring in objects (marbles) to use with the trebuchet. Also, bring in pennies as a weight for the trubuchet.

Charlie enjoyed building the trubuchet. He was also interested in how the computer program can be used to control a robot.
Charlie came up with an idea for a robot to use in the kitchen. He proposed to use a smart phone application to command the robot. We discussed the steps required to design, build, assemble, program, and test such a robot.
