Students read the last chapter of the Alejandro reader for the year. We reviewed all the stories and characters they had read in the last 11 chapters and they remembered them all. Nice job!
Reviewed shopping voculary from chapter 8 with clues/pictionary on the board. Also practiced with verbal drills. Then we read chapter 11 in the Alejandro reader and completed the comprehension questions.

Students were able to recognize most of the new shopping vocaulary. They needed to see a couple of the words on the board to remember their meaning. Did a nice job of reading and comprehending the Alejandro reader.
We had a blast today teaching each other the vocab. Having done it very successfully on TUesday, the students were well prepared to teach the vocab today. I played the bad student every once in a while (passed notes, went to sleep on the table) to keep the "teacher" on his/her toes. It was a nice class and the kids really learned.

This class was the first time in two weeks when all students were present. It is catch up time. Devin and Sadie will turn in papers on Friday. Devin must take chap. 24 exam on Thursday. Ashley is the only student up to date with all obligations.
We concentrated on reviewing "Special" (45-45-90 and 30-60-90) right triangles and conventions for handling radicals. We also did some problems involving trig functions.

It was good to have Devin back in class. Both students have excellent attitudes.
We had a problem fest at the white board with Sadie doing all the work! She solved right triangle problems using the Pythagorean Theorem, trig functions and shortcuts for special right triangles.
