Lesson Outline
Played the sixteenth note hi-hat accent groove patterns and exercises from Realistic Rock. Played through the intro and main groove to Paralyzer, paying particular attention to the transition from the intro to the verse. Devin was able to play this up to speed with the recorded track, so we have made great progress here. We ended by working on the alternating accent pattern in the sixteenth note snare drum fill coming out of verse one that sets up the start of the first chorus.

Great session! Devin really has made great progress in his skill level as well as his confidence. The fact that he was able to play nearly perfectly the intro and first verse of Paralyzer in time to the recorded track is a huge milestone for him. Very proud of his progress.

Lesson Outline
We reviewed sine, cosine and tangent and used some triangle measurements to to determine values of the functions. Then we did some practice problems in which we used trig functions to find the measures of triangle parts.

Good class. They are all reading. Devin has worked hard to catch up and he's doing a fantastic job. Ashley, as per lately, is really on the ball and has lots of insights into the plot. Sadie has read everything and has a good memory for detail. I am so happy that they are enjoying the novel.
