Matthew and I were cut relatively short for time, yet managed to completely read through a story out of Matthew’s guided workbook that covered how Jesus was a friend to those set apart from their communities.
This morning, we began the lesson by reciting "The Lord's Prayer;" I sang it to Matthew. We then discussed the Golden Rule and the importance of supporting others with love, using real-life scenarios to facilitate a personal connection. We addressed love as expressed in 1 Corinthians 13:6. The big idea expresses that demonstrating true love means you show mercy and grace to the people in your life who you feel don't deserve it. Matthew drew from personal experience Matthew watched the YouTube video, 'Joshua's Last Days' #39, and responded to questions which showed that he was attentive and interested.

Lesson Comments
I subbed for Jackson this morning, Friday, 4-26-24, from 8:13-8:58.
Matthew and I completed a lesson on the three parables, each helping Matthew expand upon his understanding of what a parable is and why the new testament includes so many.
Matthew has begun to learn about the book of Acts, the first book after the four gospels. We've read passages that introduced aspects of the holy spirit, and how that differed from the others in the covenant.
