Matthew and I began by reading through the story of the loss at Ai. We completed the memory workout and "remember it" section from the lesson. Matthew then continued an episode of Veggietales, which has become a Friday tradition for us!
Matthew and I continued through the Old Testament! Matthew learned about the city of Jericho before we turned attention to the "memory workout" activity within the lesson.
Only left with 10 minutes, Matthew and I drew pictures of "how God helps us on the weekend". Matthew talked about how special Sundays are for him, a chance to be with his family.
Matthew has reached the part of the Israelites story where Moses has come and gone, and Joshua is the new leader of the tribes. Matthew learned about their engagement with the Canaanites before we watched a clip on YouTube that explained Joshua's background.
Matthew and I read, together, about the selection process that led to the first judges of the Israelites. We were slightly cut for time, so we closed our session with a fun video that explained the role of the early judges!
