Matthew and I spent the majority of class today creating two drawings that reflected his personal experience to two of the ten commandments. Matthew chose "honor you father and mother" plus "shall not use the lord's name in vain".
Matthew learned the final two commandments of the 10 commandments. Over the next week, we will complete various projects around the commandments to prepare for a brief quiz! Matthew also moved to the final plague in the story of Moses - learning about the passover.
Matthew and I were excited to get back on course as we are nearing the end of the tale between Pharoah and the Israelites. Matthew and I read the passages up to the very last plague, and we discussed what it might look like in Matthew's life to trust in a "plan" crafted by God that isn't easy to accept.
Matthew did not attend class today as he was on vacation with his family through much of the week. Class time was dedicated towards a the creation of a crossword puzzle that will be given to Matthew next week.
Matthew and I read about Pharoah continuing to hold control over the Israelites. Matthew was given a chance to create a picture-based story on what it means for God to want us to have "soft hearts".
This was Matthew's first attended lesson of the week, so we made sure to spend some time reviewing what Matthew had learned during the first week of class. Lastly, we moved forward to the next portion of the story of Moses.
