Maya was very excited about her project/making cell model
Today Maya took her math test on Topic 4-Subtracting Whole Numbers to Solve Problems. She scored a 100%-wonderful job! I was so proud to see her double check all of her answers. Maya completed work from the next topic on multiplication. Maya participated in creating a menorah craft and listened to a shared reading with her peers. It was a rhyming book about a family celebrating Hanukkah. It was nice to see the students share their traditions and what they know about this holiday. All of the students sang a cute Hanukkah song about the 8 nights of Christmas. The craft served as a reinforcement that Hanukkah has 8 candles to reflect on the miracle of the oil that lasted 8 nights. Maya had a great day!
Quiz: plant and animal cell comparison.
Activity: discuss the purpose of the activity/make a model of the four common parts of all cell, cell membrane, cytoplasm, nucleus, mitochondria. Go over the procedure. Complete the first part of the activity/making cytoplasm.

Quiz grade:100%
Very neat work during the activity.
Maya practiced her 6X tables and reviewed for her Topic 4 test. She did a great job remembering how to regroup the ones, tens, and hundreds properly. She went over her review packet. We also discussed new vocabulary as an introduction to her next topic on multiplication. This next topic should be fairly easy for her since she has been learning her multiplication tables. Maya continued her FF program and I was so proud of her for breaking her high score in Jumper Gym. Maya reviewed all of her structure words in LB, using some of her own toys. She was able to accurately express the details of her picture using each structure word. She did a great job today and I was so happy to see her again after the break! She discussed her vacation and her enthusiasm to return to North Carolina later in the month.
