Students worked on printing final copies of power point presentations in english. Then we worked on finishing the english/spanish glossary derived from the environmental words they included in their power point presentations. Students began working on the spanish version of their presentations.

Vocab unit 2, Internal and Extermal conflict

Ashely had not done her draft argumentative essay (the one that was due last Friday, when she was absent). I reminded her that she needs to turn it in tomorrow.
We discussed great American writers and I reminded students that they need to be looking around for a book that they wish to read.
We did vocabulary unit 2, pronouncing, writing, and using the words in the provided sentences.
Homework is to do exercise 2 for tomorrow.
We then taked about external and internal conflict. I asked htem to describe an example of each. they mentioned the movie Black Swan that they recently saw. We discussed which conflicts were external and which were internal.
Then I introduced The Man To Send Rainclouds. We talked about Pueblo Indians, Spanish culture in New Mexico, and why the Pueblo Indians have Spanish names. Homework is to read the 5 page story and answer the questions (not fill out the grid).

Do section 2 in Vocab Unit 2. Read Man to Send Rainclouds and answer the numbered questions.
