Writing to get to know Gabbie, she reread what she wrote, identified misspelled words and corrected them. We reviewed spelling patterns that were spelled incorrectly.
We played a word game together. Gabbie read Old Hat, New Hat and The Whale. I read Keep the Lights Burning, Abbie and Diary of a Worm while Gabbie drew pictures with markers.

Gabbie read Ten Apples Up on Top. I read Cinder-Elly, and we made a T chart comparing this story to the traditional Cinderella. I read Lon Po Po and discussed differences between this one and the traditional Little Red Riding Hood. Gabbie read Dot and Mit to Mrs. Judie.

Gabbie was very sad because of her camp experience. I let her tell me about it. Then I tried to distract her with our books. When Mrs. Judie came in, that helped to cheer her even more. She left us happy!
