Xavier participated much better today. I started with computer games, then gave him a popsicle reward for his work. He actually read for me when it was a small book that did not look too overwhelming. He listened and responded well to Wonder when I read and asked him questions.

- Informal Reading Inventory - We read stories for word recognition and comprehension. She tested at grade 3 independent level and grade 4 instructional level.

Xavier had a difficult time. He did not want to do any of the activities I prepared. It took a lot of talking and break time to get him ready to listen to me read. He participated with answers, but did not do any work on his own.

Xavier was still disappointed about his broken iPad cover and was reluctant to do any work. I kept changing tasks to try to motivate him.

Xavier was really disappointed that his iPad case broke and had difficulty focusing on anything. When his mother came and I explained, she said we can always call her during a lesson, and he will talk with him to get him back on track so we can work.
