Her mother needed help to determine the best course to put Anna in for WiloStar Academy. After looking over her placement exam and the content for each grade level, it seems she would benefit the most starting in the Math 7 Level
We covered place value with decimals, how to represent a decimal in word form, and multiplying decimals by powers of 10. Then, we also went over order of operations and did some examples.
Assignment
She has practice problems to work on, and I would like her to start reviewing her multiplication tables (I suggested flashcards)
We started with chapter 1 in the 6th grade math book, which dealt with topics such as place value, expanded notation of numbers, exponent, and writing mathematical expressions from words. She is a smart kid and pics things up quickly. I sent her home with practice from chapter 2, to see how comfortable she is with the information in that chapter.
