Patrick and his peers decorated gift bags that will contain crafts to give to family members. They worked on folding paper accurately and lining up the edges, to cut to resemble snowflakes.
Patrick watched the Grinch with his classmates and made Grinch Goo! He used a beaker, goggles, and other chemistry gear to measure and create. He loved this!
Patrick completed lesson 8.10 Flat Surfaces and Corners and 8.11 Sorting Solid Figures. He determined the numbers or flat surfaces (faces) and vertices (corners) various solid figures and real life objects have. (soccer ball, ice cube, drum, etc.) He read riddles and determined the solid figure it applied to. For lesson 8.11, he looked at various solid figures and determined the rule the group followed by looking for a common characteristic. (Ex: has flat surfaces, can roll, 1 vertex, no vertices, etc.) He mastered this concept well!
Patrick reviewed chapter 8 and completed his chapter 8 test. He earned a 100%. He was more confidant than ever and didn't hesitate at all with knowing the answers. (plane shapes, solid figures, symmetry, faces, vertices) Great job, Patrick!
Today Patrick completed 2 modules in FF. Then he joined his peers in creating some crafts for his family members. Patrick opened a couple of gifts from his Juno Beach family. He worked very hard on his gifts and was very thoughtful.
Today Patrick completed one story activity and began another about a salmon protecting her eggs. He is working hard to create his own pictures in his mind. After some prompting, Patrick was able to verbalize what he visualized. He answered questions that supported his comprehension. He completed a picture summary from the passage. He used the structure words to identify the details in his picture. Nice work, Patrick.
