Explain that square root comes from square area - give examples, the square root of 16 is 4 - 4x4=16, 81 is 9x9, etc. Not all numbers work this way, for example, find the square root of 56 is between 7 and 8 (7x7=49, 8x8=64) so add 7=8 and divide by 2 - 7.5 to check multiply 7.5x7.5=56.2 so 7.5 is the square root of 56.
