Joey and I went over some corrections that I suggested he make on his Oral History Project such as tidbit being one word, using a semicolon, commas and revising several sentences. He was very agreeable. We then discussed the assignment that Joey had read for homework and reviewed the guide questions for Chapter 22. We read and discussed Chapter 22.
We discussed the outline for the Description of a Person essay that Joey will write. He chose to write about his grandfather whom he has just interviewed about his WWII experiences. Joey brainstormed information and ideas and then we reviewed it and he added some more information.

Great lesson. The discussion was very successful. More information emerged about the experiences shared. Joe received credit and grade of A for the entire project.
Since we have not had class for 3 weeks, we did an overall yoga practice, primarily with prone, supine and seated poses. We discussed ideas for the next few classes. Class ended with some active ball work.

Joey is to find an online article on yoga (any topic of interest) and print out for discussion during next class.

Joey had read chapters 19 and 20 over his break and we reviewed and discussed them. We discussed the ongoing themes of loneliness, difficulty growing up, wanting to protect the innocence of children and the journey that Holden was on. We continued to read and discuss chapter 21.

Joey did a good job today focusing, reading and discussing concepts.
Joey and I discussed a history and English project on which he worked over his break. He interviewed his grandparents about their lives during WWII. He showed me work that he had completed. For another English project, his assignment is to write a description of a person following an outline which requires him to describe their appearance and character traits with examples. He can use one of his grandparents or another person. We discussed the assignment and then found an example of this in a description of a character in "Catcher in the Rye."
