We worked on a few difference worksheets involving slopes, slope intercept form, graphing lines, and relations and functions. He had a couple more worksheets to complete before his quiz.

We went through the concepts of what the absolute value is and how to solve equations and inequalities with the absolute sign.

We solved different types of inequalities, and graphed their solution.

Ben and I worked on problems from the EOC Prep book his teacher provided. During the majority of the session, Ben worked the problems in his book as I assisted when he had questions, or when further explanation was needed. I also spent some of the time at the whiteboard expanding on certain concepts.

Ben and I finished Section 3 (the last needed review section) and then reviewed lines as recommended.

Ben and I finished working through Section 2 of his prep book, and began Section 3. Ben seems to be very comfortable with this material once he is given a quick refresher.

Ben and I began Section 2 on functions in his EOC prep book. We worked side-by-side as Ben did his best to recall how to work the problems, and I prompted him to access the information he was having difficulty remembering, and expanded upon what he could do.

Today, Ben and I finished section 1 of the Algebra Nation booklet. At the end of the session, we downloaded the iPhone app which provides videos for each section. Ben had no trouble understanding the topics, but extra practice on his own will be necessary for him to gain ownership of the material and be prepared to perform well on the test.
