Trevor will take the chapter 7 test on Wednesday during our next AP stats session. He did very poorly on the last test. I have stressed studying and completing the review so that the concepts are all organized in his mind. He can do it, if reminded which method is used for which concept, but as I keep reminding him, that won't be available on the AP Exam, which is what he is preparing for.
— Reviewed first draft of student's satirical essay, in imitation of J. Swift, and discussed modifications to be made.
— Student edited first draft, writing a second, much more polished version.
— Student wrote first response paper to One Hundred Years of Solitude (this was homework from previous session).
— Reviewed current overall grade with student, making sure that he understands why it is what it is, and what he needs to do in order to climb to higher grade scale.

Outline the chemistry involved in the metabolism of alcohol to acetyl coa. discuss the enzymes involved, the genetics and the effects of the metabolites, especially acetaldehyde. Discuss how the drugs like antabuse work by interfering with the acetaldehyde dehydogenase enzyme leading to a buildup of toxic material in the blood and the effects of that buildup.
