Trevor will take the AP stats semester exam on Friday. It will be set up similar to the AP exam (but a shorter version covering only the topics we have covered thus far). We are about a chapter behind. I told Trevor that he is going to have to start reading sections on his own when he misses class.
Trevor will be able to: 1) find exact values of trig functions using sum and difference formulas; 2) verify an identity; 3) solve trigonometric equations that require sum and difference formulas

Trevor seems to be understanding the material more than before. He is able to use some of the concepts from last chapter to solve problems (material that he did not understand for the test). His precalculus semester exam will be on Monday. If he does well, I will count it twice to make up for the chapter 4 test grade (because he must understand the chapter 4 material to do well on the exam).

discuss the physics of fusion. Relate fusion of nuclei to the formation of more stable chemical compounds through exothermic reactions. Elicit that in order to overcome the electrostatic repulsion charges of nuclei, the velocity of approaching nuclei must be very high and this is accomplished through extreme heat like on the sun. Discuss thermonuclear reactions.
