Kayla and I first discussed some basic test taking strategies for the ACT, then we worked problems from a practice test in the Real ACT (Red book).

We had an introductory lesson, and reviewed essay strategies. We also discussed grammar rules and how to break down sentences. We will be continuing to work our way through the ACT Review book, and keep track of any particular struggles.

I helped Kayla work through some example problems similar to the ones she will be tested on tomorrow. She understood what I did, but may have trouble being able to work them on her own. I recommended two online worksheets for practice. The more she practices, the better her chance of doing well tomorrow.

We worked through several problems involving addition, subtraction, and multiplication of complex numbers.

We read and analyzed the story about fallacies that presents a real world adaptation that clearly exhibits the uses of fallacies. The story enlightens the student to the reality of fallacies used in every day language and circumstances.
