Senses
Lesson Outline
For today's science lesson, we began talking about our five senses. When I asked Analise about senses she was able to tell me taste, smell, & touch. With a little help she recalled sight and hearing. We wrote all of the senses on the dry erase board and we talked about the fun ways we can test our senses when we continue our lesson on Friday. We also went outside and checked on "Sunny" the sunflower. He is growing very well with 2 leaves now. We decided that when he has 4 leaves we will take him out of the greenhouse.

Number Sense & Subtraction Practice
Lesson Outline
To continue with yesterday's number sense lesson, Analise worked on a fun worksheet called Roll It, Write It, Tally It, Show It. Analise had to roll a die then write the number onto a chart in the corresponding column. She had a lot of fun with this activity. We also practiced her subtraction skills with a worksheet. Analise used little teddy bears as manipulatives. We made up a story for each problem such as 9 teddy bears went to a dance party and 4 teddy bears became thirsty and left to get water. How many teddy bears were left dancing? We came up with many fun scenarios. She is doing very well with her subtraction skills.

Handprint Season Tree
Lesson Outline
Analise started making a seasons handprint tree as our craft today. I traced her hand 4 times in 4 different squares on a piece of paper. Her handprint served as her tree. With finger paints Analise chose which colors should go with which season. For Winter she chose white and made little dots of snow with her finger. Next she did Fall and chose yellow, red, orange, and brown. At that time she seemed a little tired, wanted to take a break and go back to her room. She really wanted to draw on her dry erase board so I taught her how to draw a turtle, butterfly and a snail. She thought that was a lot of fun.
