I gave Keaton a few sample tests to practice for the exam. We identified certain key terms that he was unfamiliar with and started the process of making flash cards as a study tool. Then we discussed a few of the content issues he was more unfamiliar with and I gave him a number of study resources to help him prepare for the exam.

Keaton has more trouble with multiple-choice questions than he does the free-response, so we spent most of our session on these types of questions. We hope to meet one more time this week to review again and I'm praying that he completes and studies his guide.

Incorporation Doctrine
Lesson Outline
I reviewed the civil liberties cases that together form the incorporation doctrine that applied the bill of rights on a state by state level. He will need to use this review to help him complete his DBA on the lesson. Keaton then completed a short response quiz analyzing the history and complexity of implementing this doctrine by the Supreme Court. Next, Keaton completed a political cartoon analysis of Brown v Board of Education decision.

We began by outlining the main components of chapter 16 on the Judiciary. Then Keaton completed assignment 6.02, an analysis of the nominations of three different Supreme Court Justices. Keaton then took a quiz on the Judiciary, then we reviewed chapter 5, and Keaton took a quiz on Civil Liberties.

We started the second part of our day after lunch, at 2pm and ended at 5pm. Keaton still needs to complete a collaborative discussion assessment with another online student, which he can do through his email. He promised to finish the rest of the assignments this week so we can prepare for his final exam.

Keaton completed multiple assignments and short quizzes within chapters 14 and 15 on The Presidency and The Bureaucracy, including 5.10 Mapping Presidential White House Structures, 5.12 The Bureaucracy about congressional oversight, and 5.13 on Iron Triangles where Keaton researched the iron triangle surrounding the defense industry. He also took two quizzes on Module 5.
