Hunter and I do a quick overview of Bobby Hundred and Todd Mcfarlane. We discuss the differences and similarities of each designer and their careers.
We will discuss logos and their importance. Hunter will have the challenge of coming up with a name for a company and creating a logo that represents that company. We will develop 3 to 6 different designs. Hunter will choose one to use for his future website project.
Hunter and I will review the designs that were created in the last class.
I will give Hunter a real client looking to have a logo completed. I will give him the occupation of the client, color options, suggested name for the company, and suggested themes.
We will create three different and unique logos for future presentation.
I will introduce Hunter to a third graphic designer, Kaws. Kaws is a cartoonist and ad/merchandising artist. We will see how his passion for color and art pushed him into an artistic phenom.
What are some of the latest construction technologies that are happening currently? We found a wonderful site showing ten of these. We were both fascinated by the direction some of these trends are going. Good session.
In our morning session, Hunter began writing/typing his essay. He had difficulty with a thesis statement and introductory paragraph, but wrote for a long time, uniniterrupted, and crafted a lenghty first paragraph with supporting evidence. We read together from "The Book Thief" in our afternoon session, and analyzed and answered guiding questions.
Hunter and I will go over graphic design, what it is, and how it applies to our current world. I will introduce Hunter to Bobby Hundreds, apparel graphic designer. Hunter will see how Bobby Hundreds went from a job of becoming a lawyer to becoming a leading/edgy fashion icon. We will review the video and I will see what Hunter took away.
Hunter and I will review the video that we watched in our last class. He will let me know what he learned from Bobby Hundrends.
We will watch a video on Todd McFarlane, graphic designer turned entrepreneur.
Once we have completed the video I will review the differences between Bobby Hundreds and Todd McFarlane.
I showed Hunter the factoring pattern for factoring sums and differences of cubes. He had to find the cube root of each of the terms, then use them in the formula. He worked 7 problems using the patterns. He had a little trouble with the arithmetic, so we'll work on them more tomorrow.
Hunter completed an outline for his descriptive essay. He decided upon a "draft" thesis statement, main ideas for each paragraph, and supporting ideas. He will begin to write in our next class.
