Interactive Calendar Vocabulary Daily Sentence Puzzle Making a Popsicle

Libby completed her interactive calendar. She read and discussed her vocabulary words. She put together her daily sentence puzzle. She read a Scholastic News Magazine about the person who accidentally discovered how to make popsicles. She made a popsicle and learned how to turn cranberry juice (a liquid) into a solid.
Aiden completed the lab "Breaking Waves" which created waves of different frequencies and angles in a ripple tank. He recorded his data and observations. He answered the follow-up questions.
Colson read about the voyage of the Beagle by Charles Darwin. He watched an animation on natural selection and a video about the Galapagos tortoises. We discussed natural selection and adaptations. He drew a comic where the following three Galapagos tortoises are talking about their unique adaptations: domes tortoise, intermediate tortoise and saddleback tortoise.
Colson completed the lab "Classroom Variations" where he measured classmates' forearm lengths, recorded his data, and concluded that the different arm lengths are evidence of genetic variation among a population. He answered the follow-up questions.
Chris completed the Investigation "Just Grow with It" where he researched an animal, recorded its traits, then categorized its traits as either genetic or environmentally caused. He completed the Reproduction and Growth of Animals review.
Chris and I built a "camera obscura" Tinker Crate kit. He learned how to assemble and position the mirror. He learned how it projects an image through a lens.
Colson completed the lab "Population Variation" where he measured the lengths and widths of 10 sunflower seeds. He recorded his data in a table, then organized his data from smallest to largest. He analyzed his data by counting which lengths and widths were the highest in population.
