Question Breakdown by Unit of the test/History Tutoring/HUAC/Civil Right Movement
Lesson Outline
Today we looked at the % of questions per unit on the AP test. For instance, in Unit 1: Foundations of American Democracy,
15%–22%
Unit 2: Interactions Among Branches of Government, 25%–36%
Unit 3: Civil Liberties and Civil Rights, 13%–18%
Unit 4: American Political Ideologies and Beliefs, 10%–15%
Unit 5: Political Participation, 20%–27%
We also continued to evaluate FRQs from the 2021 AP US Govt. Exam. Marcel wanted to break from AP review for the next history test - even though he is exempt from the next test. He wants to feel confident with the material just in case it is used again on the final exam. Marcel asked if we could review McCarthyism, HUAC and certain aspects of the Civil Rights Movement for the last 45 min. of our session.

Lesson Comments
Marcel wanted to work 30 minutes overtime today and I was able to do so. Marcel and his mother asked me to drive him to the dentist after our session! I declined and said I could not. Apparently, Marcel's parents weren't here to pick him up and take him to the dentist and then home. Marcel's mother didn't want him to wait for Uber - even though the wait was for his ride was not at all long.
In this activity, Marcel is close to finishing the non-
calculator portion of the multiple choice exam. This is thirty questions and next session he will begin a 15 question multiple choice with the use of the calculator.
In this activity, Marcel contiued working on his practice exam for AP Calculus. Again this is time consumming, because he takes notes along with alternative methods to solve the problem.
We reviewed the last few multiple choice practice test questions at the end of the Civil Liberties & Civil Rights chapter in Barron's. We spent a good amount of time reviewing the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. We also continued to evaluate the 2021 FRQ answers and responses on the AP Central/College Board site.

Remote lesson. Marcel wants to work on AP Govt. review and some review for a history class during our next session on Wed., 4/6. Marcel would like to work from 1:30 - 4:00pm and I am available to work 30 an additional 30 minutes with Marcel this Wed. I apprised Kendra of Marcel's request, too.
In this activity, we continued working on the non calculator multiple choice portion of the exam. Again each problem has many notes and the complete solution which is completed by Marcel.
In this activity, Marcel started his first AP calculus practice exam. This is not timed and we talk about the problem fist and he takes notes and then solves the problem. For the first practice exam we do this for all four sections.
