We began today's session with our one octave scales on each string. Vibrato training came next. Eudora's vibrato is improving. We used our remaining time to work on her orchestra pieces.
We started today's lesson with our shifting exercises from first to second position. We then spent a good amount of time on vibrato training. The lesson was concluded after we worked on the Bach minuet.
We have now 2 shifting exercises. First, is the long bow one octave on one string with vibrato. Second, is the faster paced shift to second position covering only 5 notes of the octave. We reviewed Scherzo and took a look ahead at the next piece in the book.
Today we began with our well practiced C major, and D major scales. We started on a new piece on page 8 (Scherzo). We are working on the first sections "Presto". We are focusing on 2 things: using a light bow with a loose bow arm and having seamless shifting.
Today we practiced our C, and G arpeggios with a variety of bowings. D major arpeggio needs the most attention especially in the lower octave. Then we worked on vibrato. The first finger is the only noticeably improving at this time. Focus on finger 2 and 3. We finished with the Minuet and looked ahead at the next couple songs for her to work on in China.
We started with c,d,and g major arpeggios. Our focus today was to try to anticipate the next note sound before we played it. Next we worked on pinkie exercises. We finished with vibrato training and the Bach minuet.
We started with C, G , and D major arpeggios. We worked on practicing Major scales in 16th notes(fast 4 on each note). We worked on vibrato. We ended with playing Happy Birthday and most of Minuet by memory.
Today we started with practicing arpeggios for all the major scales we have gone over thus far. We also worked on position exercise with the second finger and vibrato training. We finished working on Minuet.
The scales we practiced today were G major/ e minor and D major/ and b minor. We spent most of the time working on shifting with b minor. We finished by beginning Minuet by Bach.
