Calculus BC: Limits and Continuity of Algebraic Functions
Lesson Outline
Calculus BC: Limits and Continuity of Algebraic Functions. Determining limits of various types
of non-linear functions. Use of TI-84 graphing calculator to program and plot graphs of various algebraic functions to identify continuity (or holes) and limits. Logarithmic functions and vertical/horizontal asymptotes.

During this first Calculus BC tutoring session with Madison, the main objective was to explore her Math background and problem-solving skills. Madison is a very bright and capable Math student who has had a negative experience with Calc BC in her defunct FLVS course. We worked on determining limits of non-linear functions/equations using the TI-84 programmable calculator. Very encouraged to know that Madison aspires to pursue a Mechanical Engineering degree next year.
Joshua worked on his college credit math problems in the CLEP program, the College Level Examination Program because he can take college tests to earn college credit. He was able to work entirely independently and at an efficient pace - leaving the Batt School as an exemplary, highy-motivated student.

We will continue through the CLEP test example problems.
