Today Henry began his session with reading from "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever." We discussed the characters, made a character chart, and he compared the Herdman family to the main character - Grace.
Henry continued his research on holiday celebrations around the world. He researched holidays in France and England. He has now a list of holidays from five different countries. Henry is now researching/identifying what holiday from each country he will portray in his final project. He has chosen Boxing Day for England. He enjoys learning about different countries' holidays.

Henry was a little preoccupied with a space helmet he was making that he had started in the class before. He needed some redirection and encouragement to stay engaged in the lesson. However, he was pleasant and upbeat.
Henry completes a fun math exercise whereby he has to determine if positive and negative integers are in proper sequence. He was very focused and completed this with little assistance from me. The last half of the period, we move to the Industrial Arts laboratory where Henry designs and starts a astronaut's helmet and jet pack out of cardboard. Great effort...
