We discussed narrative writing. PJ outlined his idea for his writing. Then he used his outline to create his narrative.

We watched the Twilight Zone episode of "Time Enough At Last" and compared it with the short story of the same name. Ben identified the themes of the stories, comparing and contrasting how the character was portrayed in each as well as how conflict was introduced in the story. We also discussed how the differences impacted the story.

David created a plot outline for his next story, outline the protagonists, the story arc, and specific scenes he will include.

As a prereading exercise, PJ listed knowledge that animals might teach you about human life. We then read a story about a pet fox who takes a mysterious and disturbing drive with his boy and the boy’s father. PJ responded to reading comprehension questions after he read.

We completed an anticipation guide for the next chapter of "Monster". We then read the chapter, taking turns with the characters, as the story is set up as a screenplay.

Brainstorming/planning: We continued the brainstorm ideas for David's short stories that he will be writing this week.
