Andrew read today.

We discussed our plan for after Thanksgiving Break. I would like to focus on Andrew's reading assignments independently. I would also like to focus on improving his writing. He also read a chapter of The Kite Runner today.

Today, Andrew was asked to write a letter of gratitude to a teacher who has inspired him. He wrote to Ms. Anna. He learned how to correctly format a letter, including the salutation, body, and closing. He then presented it to his teacher.

Today, we brainstormed a list of things we are thankful for. From that list, we chose three things to write about. Tomorrow, we will create a story from each of these items.

We explored the story of the first Thanksgiving, focusing on the Wampanoag tribe and the harvest festival they celebrated with the Pilgrims. We discussed the food that was actually eaten around that time as well.

We completed all of the parts of the Early American Literature assignment including the assessment.

We practiced the reading portion of the SAT test.

Today I helped Andrew with his essay for social studies. The topic was Brown vs. The Board of Education. We discussed background information to include in the introduction of his essay.

Andrew read from The Kite Runner, studying the characterization of Hassan.
