In this activity, Vlad began his review starting with an intuitive understanding of derivatives and progressing to using algebraic techniques to solve limits.
In this activity, Vlad reviewed the rules of differentiation focusing on product and quotient rules. He worked on these two rules because It is so important that these derivatives must be simplified, in order for the derivatives to be useful.
In this activity, Vlad determined derivatives of quadratic and radical functions using the definition and the limit process. He also used the point slope form and derivative to determine equations of tangent lines.
I had Vlad open his Webpage and we worked to update all pages of his site. We checked for functionality and made sure that the site had the look that he was trying to achieve.
Vlad and I logged into his website and transferred his student site to his main domain. While the transfer was processing I had Vlad work on another set of concepts.
Vlad oopened his animation file, made duplicates of the folders that he had created, and we worked to resize the images. I had Vlad create a baseline for the animation. The animation was moved up and down to simulate moving up and down a hill. The final animation had the character walking forward into view while walking over a series of hills.
Vlad and I also watched the film Ad Astra, a film about a rogue astronaut.
Using the Sadlier Vocabulary Workshop, level E, Vlad and I continued where we left off. We worked our way through Unit 13, doing all the exercises, running from page 164 to 173. We then moved on to Unit 14, doing all the exercises, running from page 174 to 182. We did not get to Unit 15, the last unit in the textbook. Today was Vlad's last day of class.

Lesson Comments
If we could go back in time, I would have recommended that Vlad be required to take a year or two of Wilson training. Vlad has difficulty pronouncing words. It would appear he has not had any training in phonics. As a result, for example, Vlad mispronounced "behave" and "cleaniness," among several other words. I followed up and helped Vlad correct his pronounciations, and Vlad graciously accepted my corrections. I need to add that I feel badly about Vlad's poor training in phonetics because mispronouncing words, especially "easy words," can work against a person in a social situation. Apart from his need to improve his ability at sounding out words, Vlad has been an outstanding student. He is dedicated to doing well. He is resourceful. He has a clear vision of where he wants to be, and he is committed to reaching his goals. Today being his last day as my student, I wished him well in the future.
