Sam reviewed her vocabulary words. Then she identified them using related synonyms and antonyms. She completed the session by using the words in sentences.
Sam had a great attitude today, and with only minor redirection, spent the time working on her short answer responses to chapter 1, Lord of the Flies. She spent the remainder of the class reading the next chapter.
Natalie read portions of Act III and answered questions from the study sheet. We reviewed Natalie's answers ,and I made suggestions on supplementing her answers relating to Claudio's response to the "mousetrap play",and the famous "to be or not to be speech". Later in the session, Natalie read a study guide on the dramatic devices of aside and soliloquy and completed the quiz on that lesson.
I did an oral examination to try to help Hunter remember and clarify concepts. Because Hunter does not enjoy taking notes, it was beneficial to help him and pretest my matching quiz to alter questions that are hard or confusing for him. Homework: He is simply to review for the quiz Monday.

I was remiss in not meeting Hunter for the full time, but he was here. I will be revising the matching portion of the quiz and adding an essay in an effort to be fair and make this quiz a positive experience.
Gio and I started work on the 16 slide PowerPoint due Wednesday. It is a MAJOR ASSIGNMENT. We were only able to finish 3 slides, but I assembled quite a few photos for the next slide.
Gio needs to understand that this Capstone Project is far more intensive and unlike other projects he has completed during his school career and this is not merely the task of writing a page discussing how to reduce unnecessary 911 calls.
He scored 30% and 40% on two parts of his Capstone Project and needs to complete the annotated bibliography ensuring that each entry is at least 100 words and that each space and punctuation mark is correct according to MLA Style. We (1) completed all four entries, (2) reworked the project plan, and (3) framed the 5 Guiding Questions for his research. This is a MAJOR PROJECT with various parts.
Gio’s Capstone Project proposal intends
A. To study and assess the strengths and weaknesses of Palm Beach County's current 911 system
B. To research and evaluate alternatives that retain and build on the current strengths of Palm Beach County’s 911 system, but that eliminate or alleviate the weaknesses.
C. Make recommendations regarding a superior system that will reflect 911
“best practices” in the modern era:
1. Effectively triage calls (evaluate the urgency, prioritize, and re-direct to appropriate agency—police, fire, paramedic), rather than the current “First In, First out” practice of responding in the order received
2. Accept video and photo transmission
3. Establish precise geo-location
4. Accept text in various languages
5. Reduce the number of unnecessary calls (for example: non-emergency health questions, traffic, directions, event information and cancellations, directory assistance, and private matters)
D. Present findings to various community organizations in Palm Beach County
1. Fire Rescue
2. Emergency Management
3. County Commissioners
