We worked on solving problems where we simplified algebraic expressions using the Distributive Property. Then we changed mixed numbers into improper fractions.

Lesson 8-2 Relate Fractions, Decimals, and Percent - We learned to convert numbers to other forms. Then we practiced representing percent greater than 100 and less than 1.

We completed our review of graphing by discussing concavity, extrema, and points related to curves. We also completed a review of the basic geometry concepts needed for trigonometry. After the holiday break we will begin our study of trigonometry.

Determine where a graph is increasing or decreasing, concave upward or concave downward, and identify significant points on the graph. Use a graph to determine a function.

We finished our review of graphs of functions and the properties of graphs. This will be needed for our study of trigonometric functions and their graphs. We also started our review of triangles and other geometric concepts needed to learn trigonometry.

The first part of the lesson was a test on the review of Algebra. Jackson scored 100% on the test. The second part was a review of graphing of functions and building a library of functions.

We started with a review of solving linear, quadratic, and radical equations. We reviewed the methods to simplify square roots and to rationalize a denominator. We started the study of graphing functions.
