Elle listened to science songs about the moon. She then cut and painted paper plates to represent the moon, sun and Earth. She will use these props to demonstrate the moon phases, eclipses and tides.
Elle worked with another student on an improv. She came up with a scenario that involved her being a popular kid and being stalked by a new student. The other student that participated played the part of her ditzy friend.
Elle has not yet completed her book, The Red Queen. We had a reading session sprinkled with critical thinking questions and comprehension inquiries. We discussed the characters and their relationships to one another, and how these relationships, as in real life, become quite complex.
U.S. government officials discuss a budget and a border... Nigerian voters head to the polls... Amazon scraps a plan to open a new headquarters in NYC...This is very big news because it could have drastically changed NYC for the better. Elle did not get to school until approximately 9:30 today. She is having some what I call "Teen-age Drama" issues. Nothing serious, just issues with friends saying stuff. We had a great talk about how we "Don't Sweat The Small Stuff," and "This Too Shall Pass." Her thought was "Things Take Time." I agreed meaningful relationships do take time.
