In this session, Elle worked on the whiteboard. She worked with linear equations using slope, slope intercept and point slope formulas. Elle was given two points and determined her linear function then checked her work using her graphing calculator and the function value app.

Elle has been unable to focus during class. It has been very difficult to accomplish much with her. During the few minutes Elle decides to pay attention, she is quite intuitive and answers questions with insight and understanding. At the end of class today Elle said: "I did very well today." It was clear she did not do well. I certainly hope she studies this weekend for her test.

Elle looked at a diagram of the moon's phases. I demonstrated why we always see the same side of the moon. I also explained that the phase of the moon we see from Earth depends on how much of that side is lit. She ended the session watching a Bill Nye Clip on the phases of the moon.

Elle found a website that showcases happy news called "Sunny Skyz." It focuses on national news stories about everyday people who do good things for other people. We also focused on other current events such as the gradual movement of the magnetic North Pole, the history of U.S/. Saudi Arabian relations and the mysterious mud of an uninhabited South Pacific island formed by a volcano in 2014.

We danced to warm-up which was Elle’s fun idea. We did barre exercises with upbeat music to get some energy and warm-up. We brought the energy to a calm with a relaxing yoga class. We ended with yoga breathing and meditation.
