Review of electric circuits and formulas. Discuss power as current x voltage, P=I x V,
Review energy terminology as Power per unit time and review units.
Outline series circuits. Discuss the pathway of current within a series circuits, how the total resistance is measured, how the total voltage is measured and the measurement of total current.
Sketch a parallel circuit and note that each device operates independently . Determine total voltage in a system, current and total resistance
Discuss why the velocity of a circling satellite is not slowed down. Discuss both horizontal movement and vertical gravitational attraction. Discuss friction in opposition to forward motion and support force to gravity. Define and explain period of motion and elliptical orbits
To determine the effect of deceasing mass on acceleration. Lab involves time and distance measurement with decreasing mass on a motion cart. Average times are measured, acceleration determined for each average time and compared. Graph is drawn to analyze the results.
