Spencer and I discussed setting goals for basketball and for school. Given a word box of vocabulary words, Spencer was tasked with completing sentences with the correct word. He practiced crossing out answers used as he proceeded with the assignment. He confidently solved three-digit word problems that included regrouping in the ones, tens and/or hundreds place.

Tristan completed homework such as math - minute 8 activity, completing ten math problems and language arts - vocabulary, unit 6, reviewing the meanings by filling in the circle under the picture that matches the word and choosing a word to use in a sentence.

Spencer confidently solved three-digit subtraction problems that sometimes required regrouping. He enjoyed being timed while doing the problems. Given sentences with grammar and spelling mistakes, Spencer was tasked with identifying the mistakes and correcting them.

After playing outside we went over homework.

Spencer confidently completed 2-digit subtraction problems that required regrouping. He also worked on 3-digit subtraction problems with regrouping. Spencer identified the compound word in each sentence he read. He divided the compound word into two smaller words. Additionally, he defined given compound words.

Tristan completed homework such as math - subtracting fractions with like denominators. He did amazing. Tristan then completed language arts - unit 6 vocabulary, matching the meaning - drawing a line from the word to the matching picture and completing the sentence - writing the word on the line that best completes the sentence; reading and retelling the story, "Dash on the Path", writing the beginning, middle, and end using the words first, next, then, and last.

Spencer benefited from encouragement and prompting to complete his homework assignments. He confidently solved two-digit subtraction problems that required regrouping. After reviewing how abbreviations are utilized and the punctuation needed, Spencer was tasked with proofreading sentences that included abbreviations. Spencer identified the sentences that were incorrect and made corrections where needed.

Tristan completed homework such as language arts - unit 6, I introduced vocabulary words such as squirm, burst, tangle, examine, judge, space, fasten, frantic, shock, spread with a reading, "The Amazing Jumping Spider"; math - adding fractions with like denominators, understanding that the denominator stays the same.

Spencer chose to complete his math homework first today. He was tasked with a mixed review of learned skills. Spencer reread a passage before answering questions that required looking back in the passage. He did well on a vocabulary assignment. Additionally, Spencer listened to a story online and then answered recall, main idea and word choice questions.

Matthew was given time to write a response to his first major college writing assignment.

He was required to write on his own a response to the prompt.

We discussed other deadlines that are approaching for his coursework.
