Addison worked on Place Value with Rounding to the Tens and Hundreds. We viewed a Brainpop jr video lesson on Rounding. Next we worked on an educational game which practiced subtracting (tens and hundreds) using place value. For Language Arts, we worked on IXL skills of inference and context clues.

Addison did not have school work/ homework with her, as she had a Substitute today. We worked on 2nd grade skills for Reading and Math. She was a bit unfocused today but was easily redirected.
Addison completed her Math homework on place value to the hundreds (Lesson 2-1). We reviewed strategies of counting on and back by 10 and 100. Addison used ten sticks and cubes as manipulatives. We concluded with a Brainpop Jr. instructional video on "Place Value." Next, we read through the Religion worksheet with many facts from the New Testament, Matthew on Satan trying to tempt Jesus. Addison was quizzed on the information and did well.

Addison and I read her notes on "John Baptizes Jesus" and reviewed the correct answers to the questions. We then studied the notes and Addison was quizzed. We read the Literature/ story in the bag together.

Addison arrived 15 minutes early for her session, and Mom requested we end at 4 pm.
Addison worked on IXL for Language Arts skills: sequencing/ order of events and Inference. Addison chose (and provided reasoning) a book title that matched the picture. For Math, we continued work on place value to the hundreds, comparing #'s to 120 with >,< and =. even/ odd and adding 3 digit numbers with regrouping.

Jesus in The Temple/ Sentences/ Word Form for Numbers
Lesson Outline
Addison studied her Bible verse and religion homework. We read through everything several times. We used an educational computer game, Brainpop jr, to learn about types of sentences. We ended our session with reviewing numbers in word form. Addison was very focused and a joy to work with.
