Nicole completed exercises #1-32 on p. 316. She had to change percents to fractions, percents to decimals, fractions to percents, and decimals to percents. She did a nice job on them. We then started our review for the final test.
Nicole and I decided to focus on Language Arts today. First, she reviewed the vocabulary list on Quizlet. Next, we turned to her summer reading book, Kook, and co-read several chapters. The book is evolving into part introspective mid-life quest, part travelogue, and part environmental activism. The vocabulary is challenging, but Nicole is handling it well with the tools available on the Kindle app.
Today we covered the many beach openings in the U.S. Beaches actually open today here in Palm Beach County. That said, there are still strict travel regulations in place across most of the world as well as in the U.S. Here in FL, visitors from Louisiana, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut must remain in quarantine upon arrival to FL for two weeks. Movie theaters, concerts, indoor/outdoor sporting evens and even horse racing (just to name a few) are not open to the public and there is no indication of when that may change. Finally, tropical storm Arthur churned off the Florida coast this weekend and is moving north. This storm developed two weeks before the official start of hurricane season (June 1 - Nov. 30). There are predictions right now that this could be a very active hurricane season for the east coast.
Today we will do a cardio kickbox workout to Latin music. This involves many of the martial moves that we have learned and practiced over the last academic year.

Nicole presented the information that she had gathered for her webpage. I had Nicole go to her page, open the editor and begin uploading the information that she had found. I found her a picure to use for the tour guide that would be on her page, she placed it and wrote a backstory for the character. Nicole completed some other tweaks to the page and I had her save her work.
