In this activity, Sofia simplified radicals again but the level of difficulty was raised and she really did very well no matter what the level of difficulty.
In this activity, Sofia completed an exercise on simplifying numerical expressions under radicals. Sofia simplified radicals by extracting perfect squares.
In this activity, Sofia determined slope by ordered pairs using the slope formula. She also determined slope by transforming standard form of a line to slope intercept form.
In this activity, Sofia again worked on simplifying radicals using only numerical expressions. She also verified the accuracy of her work using the graphing calculator.
Sofia made oreo fudge in the microwave by crushing Oreo cookies, melting/cooking choc chips with condensed milk, and mixing the oreos in it, she then layered them on a pan to allow cooling for a sweet treat.
During the first segment of the session, Sofia caught up on her missing homework assignments by answering questions about popular sovereignty , rule of law, checks and balances, and limited government. We discussed her class ,notes and the text where she had questions on the material. As scheduled, Sofia then took a short test on this chapter. She did very well. We then began a more in-depth analysis of the function and operation of the US Congress. For homework due Tues. read chapter on Congress and answer assigned questions on the reading.
