Dutch played with other early arrivers for the first half of the session. Then, he and I worked on soccer skills and aiming at the smaller soccer goal from different distances and angles.
Dutch, Cabo, and Christopher were playing tag on the playground together this morning before he slipped on the slide and injured his back/side and had to rest the rest of the morning.

I filed an accident report as soon as it happened, but the slide was wet and he was standing/walking down it, slipped, and essentially knocked the wind out of himself.
Dutch played volleyball and ran around with other students that arrived early this morning. I love giving them free time to just play and be crazy without structure sometimes, and he really seems to like it.
Dutch and I played volleyball with other students outside this morning. I'm happy to see his dedication to practice and improve his skills.

I had to have a more serious talk with him at one point because he was getting SUPER competitive and consistenly trying to spike the ball really hard to our side. He only got this reactive when it was obvious how bad he and Cabo were "losing", so I told him to "Breathe and come back down to Earth and focus on his strengths and have fun!" - He didn't take it so well. He yelled over me "Just hit the ball!" repeatedly until I stopped playing and walked over to him to speak directly about the learning opportunity that was in front of him for calming down and refocusing. rather than getting frustrated and overreactive. (Probably needless to say) he wasn't very receptive to my coaching in the moment and proceeded to be extremely competitive for the rest of class.
We played volleyball outside with the over early arrivers. He's learning how to hit properly and "aim".

Ben inhaled two donuts within 10 mins, and I caught him cutting up pieces and eating more on his way to class, and I had to ask him to save some for everyone else...I'd be really curious to know what his therapist believes about sugar and the affect on his brain and overall health/well-being because I do NOT believe his relationship with it is serving his highest good.
