In this activity, Anna focused on practicing differentiation using the chain rule with a heavy use of the trigonometric functions.

In this activity, Anna determined derivatives and equations of tangent lines. Anna used chain, product, power rule and combined with the trig function derivatives to determine equations of tangent lines.

In this activity, Anna derived the trig derivatives and used the chain rule and product rule to determine the derivatives of nested trigonometric functions.

In this activity, Anna determined derivatives of various functions that were represented by various powers. She then determined various tangent lines using point slope form and she used the power rule to determine slope.

In this activity, Anna continued to work on the algebraic determination of limits. Most of the class was spent on determining the derivative of a function by definition. This is a difficult formula to work with and very time consuming.

In this activity, Anna had to determine limits algebraically without the support of a graph. She had to determine the correct technique needed to evaluate each limit.

In this activity, Anna completed an exercise of determining limits using a graphical approach. This is also called an intuitive approach to the development of limits.

Today Anna presented her final project on the Taiga. She also took the final exam via Quizizz for AP Bio Ecology scoring 100%.

Anna dissected an owl pellet to investigate the anatomy of barn owl prey. She will use this information to reconstruct the skeleton of the vole she found in the pellet. She will also put together a food web with the owl as the apex predator and determine the diet of the prey item based on independent research. Anna will share her skeleton reconstruction and lab investigation sheet via pics or screen share during our next session.

Today Anna and I discussed the parameters of the final project for AP Bio-Ecology. Anna will select one biome from the eight listed biomes to research. The information collected will be used to create a pamphlet, website, or poster that describes the biome. The project will include what makes the biome unique and the types of plants and animals that live there, as well as dominate weather patterns and threats. Anna will gather information about the biome, take notes, and think about how she can organize this information and put it into her own words.
