Ben continues to progress and practice cursive writing. Capitalization in the beginning of sentences and for proper nouns was reviewed. Ben proofread a passage and added capital letters where needed. Ben enjoyed researching material to support his three reasons why he thinks the McLaren is the best car. He began to write his opinion paragraph

Lesson Outline
Ben continues to learn how to write additional letters in cursive and to practice the letters he has learned. He did well combining simple sentences into compound sentences. Ben likes to talk about cars. Today he completed pre-writing activities to write an opinion piece on his favorite car. He determined which car was his favorite and wrote reasons to support his opinion. Given statements, he did well determining if they were opinions or facts.

Opened with a light dynamic stretch, followed by a light dynamic warmup. Ben and I worked a series of different target based throwing activities. The activities we went through not only helped improve his coordination but his core strength as well.

Lesson Outline
Ben practiced writing p and y in cursive. He also practiced writing all letters he has already learned in cursive. We continue to practice both determining if two simple sentences can be combined and, when appropriate, combining two simple sentences into a compound sentence. In honor of Earth Day, Ben read a passage entitled, 'A Day to Celebrate Earth'. He did well writing the answers to questions about the text. Ben was given the writing prompt, 'What would happen if humans did not take care of the Earth?'
