Richard began with interpreting and solving multiplication and division word problems. Then, he worked on a money related decimal activity. Richard used a price list to add decimal amounts with regrouping, multiply a decimal amount by 2, subtract decimal amounts across zeros to find change, and solve 2-step decimal word problems.
Richard took his spelling test and practiced words with sub un and pre prefixes. He read books with words he can read. We watched some of the movie, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind.
Physical therapy consisted of heel to toe walking around school playground over various terrain this visit with addition of distractions, such as having student spell words. Student required intermittent cues to contact with heel first as to reduce toe walking. Session also incorporated game of Bocce ball with other students with a focus on coordination. Student tolerated well.
Richard took his social studies test this afternoon. He had to answer 35 True/False and multiple-choice questions about local, state, and tribal governments. Richard has good recall of the material and is motivated to do well on tests. He was very pleased with the 94% he obtained on this exam of 35 questions (33/35)!
Richard completed his interactive calendar. He read and played a match game with his new vocabulary words. He took a quiz on his new vocabulary words and their definitions. He checked on the water gauge outside to see how much rain had fallen last month.
