This morning, Kellan and I reviewed and corrected last night's homework before he began to work on mastering the 7s facts using multiplication flashcards. Then, our lesson expanded upon finding equivalent fractions using multiplication to include using division. Using skip counting, we looked for common factors of numerators and denominators and then used division to simplify given fractions.
Kellan discussed the 4 major events that happened in the Middle Ages that led to the birth of the Renaissance. He located the country of Italy, and learned about the many Artisans that emerged out of Italy that are famous today for their masterpieces.
This morning, Kellan worked on a unit fluency practice on adding and subtracting multi-digit numbers with the remaining questions assigned for homework. Then, Kellan continued to practice generating equivalent fractions with multiplication before he took a correlating quiz, earning a 96%.
