I complimented Kellan on his improved reading. I am really pleased to see that his reading level has increased to be able to read this book. He also displays more confidence and doesn't say that he can't do it.
Today, Kellan completed an equivalent fraction of sets coloring activity. He divided sets of objects into groups according to denominators and colored the number groups according to numerators. Then, he used the colored parts to compare fractions and wrote whether they were equivalent or not. We finished with a game of multiplication war and Kellan took a timed 6s fact check.
Kellan read about conserving resources: energy and water, and recycling. He watched a video about conserving natural resources. He read a passage on recycling, and he summarized the passage.
Today, Kellan had a shortened class time to celebrate the school-wide Valentine's Day celebration. Before the party, he was able to work on the daily review on using all operations to complete input/output tables and take a timed 6s fact check.
Kellan's vocabulary is growing through his storytelling. He knows that I use his vocabulary for spelling words, so now he will point out a "good" word when he uses it in a story.
Kellan read about air pollution and water pollution. He watched a video on invasive species and read a passage about invasive species. We discussed examples.
