Today's daily review question consisted of using data from a chart to answer multiple questions using different operations. Then, Kellan worked on a multiplication and division word problem activity in which he determined the correct operation needed to solve real-world scenarios. Finally, Kellan continued to practice using the steps to solve long division problems. For homework, Kellan was assigned a fluency review using addition and subtraction to complete a maze.
Kellan placed birdseed in a bag with a wet paper towel to germinate seeds and track their growth every day. He read about animal needs: water, oxygen, space, and shelter. He read about animal groups: vertebrates and invertebrates. He drew an illustrated diagram of vertebrates and invertebrates.
Crusades Map Skills Vocabulary States and Capitals
Lesson Outline
Kellan researched and discussed the weapons and methods of attack used during the crusades, and if any of these practices are still used today. He completed two more caricatures of the Midwest states and their capitals.
Kellan wrote his spelling words in his journal. I read The Best Christmas Pageant Ever to him, and we discussed it. In his journal, he wrote a prediction about what will happen next. He read Cat Kid and discussed it.
Kellan began with a review of the 10s facts before he took a timed 10s fact check and the daily review question was completed on solving a multi-step, multi-operation word problem. Then, Kellan and I continued to work on following the steps needed to solve long division problems. Kellan rewrote division problems and followed the steps to find the number of groups and the amount left over as well as interpreted the remainders.
