We listened to the video of the book,"Nellie Meets Charlie the Crab," written by Ms. Trulaske, our guest author. He learned how to write in cursive the letter l in the words yellow, lion, and mail. He completed an activity with singular and plural nouns. He did an excellent job today in writing his own sentences with compound predicates, and then diagramming the sentences. He finished reading the literature story on endangered turtles. He took his Wordly Wise test and made a 100.
Work on finishing Mercer's color theory project. We focused on going in the direction of the form when drawing an object. This is less important for the scales of his snake but more important for his wood that the snake is wrapped around.

Mercer learned how to connect the letter k in cursive. He completed an activity on diagramming sentences with compound predicates. He read a reading comprehension essay exploring and using Wordly Wise vocabulary words in context, and answering questions in complete sentences about the essay. He engaged in an activity identifying the proper way to write plural nouns.
Today's lesson focused on completing the Greek mythology assignment and the Golden Age of Greece. Mercer completed his greek mythology story with the character he created. He reviewed details of the end of the Persian War and the beginning of the Golden Age of Greece. Mercer read that after King Xerxes burned Athens, the ruler of Athens ordered that the city be rebuilt, making it a beautiful place to live and that the Athenians encouraged visitors and thinkers to come to their marketplace or agora. Mercer spent the remainder of the class watching more facts and details about countries with active volcanos.
