Mr. Fatata texted school just before 9am to let us know Sam & Bella may be available for remote classes after noon today. I texted Bella at 9am through Teams, "Hi Bella. Just learned you won't be in class this morning. Please know that I'm here for the next hour of our class if you have any review questions prior to your history test tomorrow. Best, Bari" I saw Bella at lunch time. I again reminded her of the test tomorrow. She said, "I'm gonna fail." I asked Bella why she feels this way as she's known about the test for almost a week. I shared that I am here until late this afternoon if she needs has any questions. It's not often Bella & Sam are scheduled for history tests on the same day. I suggest they prepare for the test together.
I utilized the program Musescore to screenshare various notated phrases in order to coach and train Bella's musical ear. She would calculate the Intervals and sing each sequence to me. She is improving.
Bella drafted a script to perform for her Spanish presentation for the talent show.
We wrote the script together. She wrote the portions that a typical 3rd year Spanish student should know. She also wrote some parts that were discussed in the article we read yesterday. I helped her to fill in the gaps.
She then recorded herself reading the script. We worked on her tone as the speaker and the correct pronunciation of the words.
Bella was online today. She read, analyzed, and discussed the next chapter of Where the Crawdads Sing. She wrote a compare and contrast essay comapring the characters of Tate and Chase and their effects on the protagonist, Kya. We edited the essay upon completion.
We reviewed the reasons the U.S. joined the Allied fighting in WWI: 1) Germany's unrestricted submarine warfare, 2) the Russian Revolution. 3) Germany's sinking the Lusitania, 4) the Zimmermann Telegram. U.S. soldiers are in France by June, 1917. Led by Gen. John J. Pershing, the American Expeditionary Forces fortified the Allies. An armistice begins on Nov. 11, 1918. (It becomes a holiday - known as Armistice Day. Since WWII, it is now known as Veteran's Day.) Life in the U.S. involved mobilizing the entire nation for the war effort. War material production was overseen by the National War Labor Board. More labor was needed to produce these materials, providing jobs for women and minorities. We discussed the Food Administration, War Industries Board and rationing. What were the Great Migration from 1914-1920 and the Sabotage & Sedition Acts of 1918?

Remote lesson for first period. We thought Bella coming in person today. By 9:15 she wasn't here so I called her through Teams and she answered it and told me she was tired and will be learning from home today.
7-2 Multiplying Polynomials – We practiced using the distributive property with polynomials to solve word problems. We used a table and an area model.
Assignment: Complete the assigned problems for homework.
Different characters in the novel were read and discussed. Varying perspectives each character could have toward the setting and conflict of the novel were also discussed. She then made predictions - citing text - for the resolution of the plot according to the varying perspectives. She then reviewed the SAT vocabulary being studied.
