ABSENT - Monday's HW assignment re: the Industrial Revolution is SO important to the study of Modern World History that I sent it to Jaydn again today. I also moved today's lesson plan to tomorrow, 9/23.
I introduced Jaydn to the Triangle Inequality and gave her several examples of triangle sides that did or did not form triangles. We then investigated the range of possible side lengths for the third side of at triangle when two sides are given. We also did some chapter review problems. There was no assignment.

We talked through lab 2 together. I recorded a video of the distillation another student did to show to her. We talked through how distillation was able to separate food coloring from water. We then discussed how to perform a filtration of sand and water. She used the rest of the class to start the postlab questions.

Jaydn was in good form and we moved significantly forward in her learning to imagine and sing note intervals, using a variety of vocal exercises and screenshared music. We then worked on "Bohemian Rhapsody", and sang as a duet "Summer Nights" from Grease. I really look forward to doing these in person at school when she's ready!
Showed and discussed the videos of deaf awareness month/history.
Explained the terminology of hearing impaired, deaf, Deaf-Blind, and hard of hearing.

Lesson Comments
Jaydn expressed her thoughts regarding the deaf community and she was engaged with the activity. She had her camera off today. We will continue with fingerspelling exercises and family signs.
Jaydn read the next two chapters of The Glass Castle. She discussed the author's use of point of view and the fact that it allows the reader to discern the differences between the incident and the protagonist's perception. I then had Jaydn write a short story emulating the author's use of point of view. We discussed in detail the effect on the reader.
