The plan was to introduce the topic of intersections and unions of geometric sets to Jaydn. We would then apply the set notations to the number lines and use the intersections of line segments to construct geometric figures. Unfortunately, Jaydn was not able to attend class. There was no assignment.

Lesson Comments
Jaydn had a medical appointment today and was unable to attend class. I will resume our next lesson from the last lesson she attended.
Notified earlier in the day that Jaydn was going t o be absent and not going to be attending class last period on the Friday before Labor Day weekend. Therefore, I left school for 5th period the Friday prior to Labor Day and Rosh Hashanah weekend.
Jaydn wrote about the theme of stability. She then read the next chapter of The Glass Castle. She connected the theme of stability to the protagonist and analyzed its effects on the protagonist's development. She continued her study of SAT vocabulary.
The plan was to introduce Jaydn to unions and intersections of figures in geometry and on the number line. I was going to demonstrate how the intersections of line segments describe figures such as triangles. Unfortunately, Jaydn was not in school today. I will resume the lesson we missed today on Wednesday. There was no assignment.

Jaydn was present via Microsoft Teams and did not have the camera on. However, Jaydn learned how to fingerspell the alphabets and signed ASL pronouns. An example was provided regarding the ASL parameters and Jaydn was able to identify the differences between the location, handshape, movement, and palm orientation.
I guided Jaydn through definitions of 'midpoint', diameter, and 'circle' and then introduced the converse and the 'if and only if' symbol. I showed her how the converse of a statement could be written and how truth or falsity is determined. There was no assignment.
