Jaydn was ready to go and on task today. The first thing I asked her it to turn on her camera but she said she just wasn't up to that today. Her ready and willing attitude was great. My lessons are now segueing with Mr. Andy's because as I walk in, he is finishing up teaching Jaydn about stage setting. As I am teaching a play the transition is effective. Jaydn worked quite hard on her take home test making sure all answers are correctly written. She is paying more attention to her grammar and mechanics.

Due to Ms Bari's absence, Dr. Pat asked me to take Jayden instead of Aiden from 10:30 to 11:15 today and had Aiden's class covered. I asked Jaydn to turn her camera on, but she said it hadn't been set up yet. Jaydn has now completed 47 minutes of the IXL Diagnostic. This year is the first time she has utilized the program. She is completing the English only and has completed 28 questions to date. her overall language arts level is grade 11. Her overall reading level is grade 12. She has specific recommendations in Vocabulary, Writing Strategies, Grammar and Mechanics which I will add to her recommendation wall. We will target those areas in need of improvement once she completes her diagnostic.

I asked Jaydn to turn her camera on, but she said it hadn't been set up yet. Jaydn enjoyed the part of the lesson when we read the highlights of the play "A Raisin in the Sun" aloud. She reads well, with inflection and enthusiasm. She would be an excellent actress.
During today's Chemistry classes, we continued working on the concept of solutions, we learned how to identify the solute and the solvent and we introduced the concept of molar concentration.
Current Events/the Early Years of FDR's Presidency

A powerful 7.8 magnitude earthquake occurred in Turkey yesterday and 1000s have died. Earthquakes actually occur frequently in Turkey and this is the strongest one there in about 80 years! What is significant about FDR's "First 90 Days?" At the end of class, we worked a bit on Jaydn's Black History personality: SZA.
Jaydn completed writing her literary essay comparing "To Build A Fire' with "Call of the Wild" .As she continues to need assistance to get her sentences started, I provided ideas and at times phrases . Again, we referred back to the essay outline for assistance where needed. Last, we worked on how to formulate a conclusion that does more than just restate the prompt or the thesis. We discussed the implications of the ending of the novel and how to pose those implications in the final sentences of the essay.
During today's class, we started working on the review of Chapter 2. We went over the definition of the most important concepts and Jaydn completed several practice questions.
During today's Chemistry class, we worked on finding everyday-life examples of solutions and identifying their theoretical concentration. With this activity, Jaydn was able to get a better understanding of the concepts.
